Lily Pie - One week old

And just like that in a blink of an eye our sweet baby girl is 1 week old today. How? When? Where has the time gone? 1 week in to being a family of 4 and we are starting to fall into a good routine. Carson is adjusting, still a little sensitive, but we are giving him lots of love, praise and he's doing an amazing job as a big brother. He loves to "help" me change her diapers, and yesterday while we were driving in the car she got fussy and he said "It's ok baby sister, it's ok. We'll be there soon." It made my heart turn to mush. :)

Lily is such a sweet, angelic, gentle baby. She looks so much like Carson to me, yet more petite, and doesn't have the chunky rolls he had from the beginning. Everyone keeps saying she's like a little doll, and I have to agree :)

Daddy and I are both head over heels in love with her. She eats like a champ, and loves to be cuddled up in your arms to sleep.

She's such a good baby girl, and we are now official complete with her in our lives. Thank you Jesus for such a gift.

Meet Lily Pie.

About 25 minutes into my C-section they told me they were going to push down and I'd feel lots of pressure. The Dr. pressed really hard down on my ribs pinched a nerve in my shoulder. I remember it was the first pain I felt since the spinal injections. That lasted a minute or two and then all of a sudden we heard the most beautiful cry. And I started crying instantly. Our sweet Lily Pie was born at 10:07 January 23rd, 2014 weighing 8 lbs 8 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. Caleb got to see her right away and cut her cord. She was close to me, but I couldn't see her over the curtain. Those minutes felt like eternity. Caleb took a picture of her and took the camera over to show me. Then finally they gave her to Caleb and he carried her over to me. And just like it was with Carson, it was love at first sight. We have a daughter.

Getting ready for Ms. Lily's arrival

Just 6 days from now, our baby girl will be making her debut! Crazy to think. It's still sinking in.

We've been very busy doing "spring cleaning" around the house, cleaning out closets, cupboards and making several trips to donate at good will. It feels good to empty up our house a little bit, especially since we are starting to accumulate a 4th persons items all over our house, haha.

This weekend is our final "push" to do the last minute stuff we wanted to do around the house... Clean the carpets, clean the balcony, clean the floors... Get the car washed... go to Costco.. you know the fun stuff. Haha.

Yesterday was officially my last day of work. I'm now on maternity leave! So our plans for the weekend will be to get lots done around the house, take Carskey boy to do something fun, and also just rest and let it sink in that it's our last weekend here at home as a family of 3. Whoa.

Mon-Wed I'm off work and then... Thursday is my scheduled c-section and we'll be meeting our baby girl finally.

It's a exciting, nerve racking week ahead. And I know it's going to go by lightening fast.
