2013: Recap

2013 started off with our hearts a little beat up, but we were still very hopefully and trusting in God that things would look up and we counted our blessings. We have had so many incredibly wonderful things to be thankful for this past year. We had several trips to Disneyland, lots of family time, visits to Sea World, the Zoo... Our Carson boy turned 2 in April, we celebrated 4 years of marriage and 11 years together, and in May the 3 of us went on a much needed mini vacation just the 3 of us to Disneyland. Upon arriving back home we received some very very good news that blessed our family beyond measure.. We were expecting a baby! With a lot of trust and put our whole hearts towards Jesus we knew, that no matter what happened, everything would be ok because we had Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

I remember the day I took that pregnancy test and saw those 2 beautiful lines, I was scared we would lose the baby, excited, happy, feeling very blessed. I closed my eyes to pray and felt an overwhelming sense of peace. I opened my Bible app on my phone and this was the verse that came up for me:

"20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." - Ephesians 3:20-21

And I knew right then and there, that everything would be ok. No matter what.

Those two Bible verses became the anthem to the rest of the year for us. Knowing that all glory goes to Him, and postured our hearts towards Jesus.

The rest of the year went by lightening fast. I can't believe how much this pregnancy has flown by. We went to Big Bear for the M Family vacation, did all kinds of fall and holiday activities. And just soaked up as much time as a family as we could. Caleb was promoted to a Manager and between my job at the Real Estate office as a transaction coordinator and my Shutter Love Photography business, we were extremely busy!

We had a wonderful fruitful year. As we go into 2014 knowing that in less than 3 weeks we will have our baby girl in our arms, and will get to bring her home from the hospital to start our lives as a family of 4.... My heart is full and I am humbled by the overwhelming amount of blessings God has given us.
